Finalists in NFTE Philadelphia Metro Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge

The Academies @ Roxborough community wants to acknowledge two amazing students who did a phenomenal job last night at the NFTE Philadelphia Metro Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge.
There were 3 finalists who presented May 16, 2019 in front of group of around 150 adults.  We had the pleasure of having two of those finalists being from Roxborough High School.  Daeshawn Crippen presented his business plan on NewCompass and Sam Johnson presented his business plan on Inquest.  Both of these students are 11th graders in Mr. Fesnak’s Business pathway.  These students stood in front of the audience and put on an amazing 7 minute presentation.  If you see them today please offer your congratulations because this was no small feat.
After the judges compiled their scores Daeshawn Crippen received 3rd place and $500 from NFTE.  Sam Johnson received 2nd place and $1000 from NFTE.  Sam will be traveling to New York in October to complete in the next round.
Congratulations are also due to Mr. Fesnak who worked with these students to help build their original idea.  This is the 4th year in a row that we have someone traveling to New York to compete.
Also thank you Mr. Heleniak who had two 10th graders who had a booth at the event because they were NFTE winners for the App-Building Competition. Good Job Tiffani Davis and Ayisha Hammond!
WAY TO GO BTE!!!
