Keystone Testing Special Schedule 2019
Keystone testing is upon us. The Keystone Exams are end-of-course assessments designed to assess proficiency in specific subject areas. Keystone Exams were developed by the Department and made available for use by school districts, AVTSs and charter schools, including cyber charter schools:
The Keystone Exams are one component of Pennsylvania’s statewide high school graduation requirements.and help guide students toward meeting state standards.
From May 13th through May 16th, our 9th grade students will be taking the Algebra I and Biology Keystone exams. On May 13th and 14th our 10th grade students will be taking the Literature Keystone exam. As a result of testing the school day schedule will be adjusted as follows…
Monday 5/13/2019 and Tuesday 5/14/2019
9th and 10th grade students arrive at 8:00 am for testing
11th and 12th grade students that are not testing arrive at 11:00 for their regular school day schedule
Wednesday 5/15/2019 and Thursday 5/16/2019
9th students arrive at 8:00 am for testing
10th, 11th and 12th grade students that are not testing arrive at 11:00 for their regular school day schedule
11th grade students who have never taken the Keystone exams in Algebra I, Literature or Biology must test this year. Students will be informed if they are on the testing list. If you have any questions about testing please contact Mr. Dumsha at 215-400-3400 or email at mdumsha@philasd.org. It is important that all students attend on time for testing days.
Electronic devices will not be permitted in testing rooms. Any electronic device used during testing will be confiscated and returned to parents/guardians on Friday, May 24, 2019 between 2:00 and 3:00 pm only!! This is a state requirement to ensure the integrity of the testing environment and process.
Important: Students who receive yellow bus transportation should plan to attend daily at the regular time. This includes students in the MDS, LSS and AS programs. Students in these programs will follow their regular schedule and experience no change in their programming.
