Jonah Woods NFTE WinnerEach year, we at NFTE are blown away by the young people who take the stage to pitch their businesses. They model the power of the entrepreneurial mindset—from seeing problems as opportunities, to creating products and services of value, to confidently pitching in front of very impressive judges.  NFTE.com

On Thursday, May 31, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) hosted the finals for its annual Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge for the Philadelphia region. The three finalists were culled from hundreds of student competitors from dozens of mid-Atlantic regional high schools.

Roxborough High School’s Jonah Wood earned first place honors with his business plan for Cast Vocation, a service to connect teens with businesses looking for temporary employees. Jonah received $1,500 in seed capital and an invitation to represent Philadelphia in the NFTE national finals in New York City in October.

Jonah is the third straight NFTE regional winner from Roxborough High School.
