Alumni Joshua Myers Visit to BTE Academy

Joshua Myers, a Roxborough graduate from the class of 2013, came back to share his knowledge, inspiration and experiences with our BTE academy students. He studied Cinematography (now Film & Video Production) with an amazing teacher, friend and mentor, Derek Stevenson. Joshua is currently attending the University of Valley Forge, majoring in Digital Media with a minor in Business. He currently holds a 3.74 GPA, and is on track to graduate in the Spring of 2018. Joshua is also a Philadelphia Academies, Inc. alumni, a major partner for Roxborough. During Joshua’s time at Roxborough, he attended several video industry competitions, obtained an internship at PECO for three years, and attended several mock interview and resume writing workshops. This type of exposure prepared Joshua for the real world, instilling the confidence, grit and resilience to become an entrepreneur. Thus far, Joshua has produced a video for Lisa Nutter’s annual fundraising party and created a promotional video for the College Expo at Penn State. He recently was able to create a GoFundMe account, with the help of Roxborough and PAI, to attend a traveling abroad program in Italy. Now, Joshua is giving back to his school and community by serving as a public voice that represents change for the better to so many aspiring entrepreneurs of the future. Thanks Josh!
